Tips For Art Exam
hey all 2EE peeps its me yi xiang again... i just write this post because im sure most of u do not know wat to do for the art exam so i would try to give u more info on how to get ur grades for art...im not saying im very good at it but at least let me share a bit of my knowledge of art to help u peeps...btw if anyone intends to fail art den dun read this... i shall start now-Question 1(handphone cover design)
-basically most people thinks its very easy to come out wif a design... but face it peeps its not primary school anymore. the prep work for this question is quite a hassle
-firstly u write the introduction e.g. i choose the question because i think coming up wif handphone designs is easier blah blah blah...
- Mind map=> this is a tricky one u haf to think of all the things people use in their celebrations like the lamps indians use for Deepavali and ketupats for the malays... (my tip is draw the masks! like the ones chinese opera use n for indians race maybe u can draw those drawings on their hands)
-First-Hand Observation=>u draw wat u first think of so its like a not so pretty one but its acceptable... miss loo says we draw wat we first think of in the first hand observation...
-Developmental Studies=> This is very important n the best way to get ur grades...so read up! u mus improve on ur design of wat u drew on first hand observation... for first hand observation try not to draw so well...
-Layout=> this basically means the background of the cover phone wich means u cant possibly jus draw a few masks here n there...i recommend u peeps to apply the line drawings for this layout as we learned in miss vanita's class...i tink we would get more marks if we apply wat we learned into this...
-Color Schemes=> this is an easy one... u jus haf to print 3 copies of the drawings u drew of the same size n colour them by the following>>> warm coulors: red,yellow,orange etc.
cool colours:green,blue,purple
neutral colours: black, white, grey
-Conclusion=> this is the last one; u justhaf to write about ur strengths n weakness when u draw the developmental studies thats easy!

Question 2
ill be doing question 2 as im more comfortable wif it cos we lerned it this year
-introduction=> its about the same as the handphone one but u mus write about wat mediums ur gona use to colour ur protrait
-mind map=> this is easy just draw a circle in the middle of the page n write portrait in it n branch out ur ideas like -------eyes---->evil---->sad---->watery eyes(something like that)
First-Hand observation=>jus draw wat miss loo taught us this year same thing dun haf to draw very nice cos u wun haf much to develope in ur developmental studies
Developmental studies=> ok heres the hard one==> (i will be drawing a face wif mixed features meaning that i will be mixing anime face features with real life face features... i dunno if it will work but i do wat i wan actaully)u can add some accessories on ur neck if u wan uhh... i dun recommend it... btw u only draw from ur head to ur neck ..other parts is just extra...
Layout=> same thing=> draw the lines like wat we learned is art class or u can come up wif ur own idea( ill be sticking to drawing lines)
Color Schemes=> same thing copy 3 of the same size of ur art piece not too big.. n apply the colours....PS dun be so stupid to colour ur face green,blue,purple etc. or even black lol...just leave it white...
Conclusion=> jus write about ur weaknesses n strengths
Tips=> if ur doing question 1 ... THIS IS IMPORTANT!! u cannot colour the cover like the way u did in primary school... u mus tone ur colouring or else it would be a jus cut the paper n paste it at the back of ur handphone lol!go find some pics of handphones n see they're like
For question 2 u need the following colours>>> brown(light) umm... orange( abit dark or redish would be nice) the reason u need these is because u need to shade some parts of the face where it is darker... ok for the parts dat needs shading are the neck.... part of the neck around the left side... n the lower jaw area...
